With Australian Fashion Week just over a month ago, we thought we will share a little glimpse into the lead up and backstage happenings of the event...
Fittings...
Fittings are always both fun and stressful. Its interesting to finally see the collection on the models that we will use for the parade.
Ryan our amazing stylist went through every look with a fine tooth comb, trying various looks on various girls to see who looked best in each outfit. We then put the collection in running order.
Alterations and finishing touches...
There are always finishing touches and little things to fix up after the fittings.
The whole team stays back late then night before to make sure the collection looks perfect.
Backstage...
Backstage is always hectic no matter how organised you are. There are always models running between shows, then rushing in and out of hair and makeup.
We have to get the venue ready, compiling gift bags and making sure all the seating is correct.
We do a tech run through, Ryan and Sara usually oversee this as well as our show producer. They watch from the media pitt to get the best view.
The team steam the collection and makes sure the final touches are all going as planned.
The show is now ready to start. The models get into their first looks.
As the models line up and just before they go out, Ryan has one more look to make sure everything looks amazing. Hair and makeup do a quick check too...
